Who writes this
Slab & Stack is written and maintained by Brijon M., the hands-on owner behind MadGrey LLC, which publishes this site. There is no anonymous panel and no rotating cast of freelancers. One person buys these supplies, submits cards for grading, and keeps a collection — and that is the whole basis on which the recommendations here are made.
We do not claim credentials we do not hold. There is no grading certification behind this site, no test laboratory, and no professional qualification in card authentication. What there is: a collector who reads the grading companies’ own instructions, buys supplies in volume, and writes down what the decision actually depends on.
What the site covers
The site is organized around one sequence — rip, protect, slab, display, store, track — because that is the order a card actually moves through a collection. Six product hubs plus a guides library, 87 articles, and 75 products covered in detail.
It is written for an adult collector who is protecting and grading a collection: someone who already knows what a toploader is and wants the decision made correctly, with reasons, by someone who handles this stuff.
What we will not do
- Invent prices. Supply prices move constantly. We link to the live listing rather than printing a number that would be wrong next week.
- Claim testing we have not done. No “in our testing”, no lab, no invented sample sizes.
- Publish ratings or testimonials. We do not assign star ratings to products and we do not print customer reviews, because we have none to print.
- Let commission decide an order. The cheaper option wins when it is the better buy, and in this category that happens often.
- Recommend products we cannot identify. Where a category is dominated by unidentifiable listings, we say so instead of filling the page.
