Slab & Stack

Editorial Policy

Sourcing, accuracy, corrections and updates — the rules this site holds itself to.

Last updated October 6, 2026

Who writes this site

Every page is written and maintained by Brijon M., the owner behind MadGrey LLC, which publishes Slab & Stack. There is no anonymous editorial panel and no rotating freelance byline. Where a page carries a byline, that is the person who wrote it.

Sourcing

  • Primary sources first. Grading company documentation and manufacturer product information outrank everything else, and we link them.
  • Secondary sources are labeled as such. Where a figure comes from trade coverage rather than the company itself, the page says so and dates it.
  • Conflicting sources are shown, not resolved silently. Where published figures disagree — slab dimensions are the clearest case — we present both and say they disagree.
  • Unpublished figures stay unpublished. If a manufacturer does not publish a dimension, we do not reprint a number from a forum as though it were a specification.

What we will not publish

  • Fabricated testing claims. We do not run a test laboratory and we never write as though we do.
  • Ratings, scores or star reviews of our own, on the page or in structured data.
  • Customer testimonials, because we have none to publish.
  • Prices as numerals. Supply prices move constantly; we link the live listing instead.
  • Invented credentials. No certifications, licenses or qualifications are claimed anywhere on this site, because none are held.

Accuracy and dates

Every article carries a published date and a last-updated date, and both are real. Where a figure is time-sensitive — grading fees, service levels, turnaround estimates, which company holds a sports license — the page dates the figure and names the source, and tells you to confirm the current number before acting on it.

Grading pricing in particular moved repeatedly through 2026, and secondary sources contradict each other on the detail. Pages covering it say so explicitly rather than presenting one source’s number as settled fact.

Updates

Pages are reviewed when something material changes: a product is discontinued, a grading company changes its requirements or pricing, or a license changes hands. Minor edits do not move the last-updated date; substantive changes do.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we correct it. Factual errors are fixed as soon as we can confirm the correct information, and where a correction changes a recommendation we say what changed rather than quietly editing. To report an error, use the contact page or email contact@slabandstack.com.

Commercial relationships

This site earns affiliate commission, principally through the Amazon Associates program. No manufacturer pays for placement, no product is included in exchange for payment, and no commission rate influences the order of a list. The full statement is on the affiliate disclosure page and the selection criteria are on how we pick.

Independence

We are not a dealer, a grading company, or a manufacturer, and we have no commercial relationship with any grading company. We do not buy, sell, authenticate or value cards. That independence is the only reason a recommendation here is worth anything.
