What that means in practice

When you click a product link on this site and buy something, we may receive a commission from the retailer. It costs you nothing extra — the price you pay is the same as it would be if you had navigated there yourself.

This is how the site is funded. There is no paid advertising on these pages, no sponsored content, no paid placement, and no subscription. Affiliate commission is the whole business model, which is why we would rather tell you about it directly than bury it.

What it does not influence

• Which product goes first. Lists are ordered by which product best fits the job, and in this category that is frequently the cheapest one.
• Whether a product is included. Nobody pays to appear here, and no manufacturer has editorial input of any kind.
• What we say about a product. Every recommendation states where the product falls short as well as what it does well.
• Whether we recommend buying at all. Several pages here conclude that the honest answer is to buy nothing — that most cards are not worth grading, that sealed boxes return less than they cost on average, and that a box beats a binder for cards in holders.

How the links work

Product links on this site pass through our own /go/ redirect before reaching the retailer. That exists so a product’s destination can be updated in one place rather than across every page that mentions it. The redirect is not indexed by search engines, and every outbound commercial link carries rel="sponsored nofollow" as search engine guidelines require.

Every Amazon link on this site carries our Associates tracking tag. Links to sources, documentation and reference material are ordinary links and we earn nothing from them.

Prices

We do not print prices. Supply prices change constantly and a number published here would be wrong within days, so every product links to the live listing where the current price is shown by the retailer. Any price you see is Amazon’s at the moment you look, not ours.

Software and tools

Some pages reference apps and online tools that have no retail listing and no affiliate program we participate in. Those are plain links and we earn nothing from them. We note it on the pages where it applies, because a link that looks like a recommendation should not be ambiguous about whether we are paid for it.
