Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Slab & Stack, published by MadGrey LLC, handles information when you use this site. We keep data collection to what the site actually needs to function and to understand which pages are useful.

What we collect directly

The contact form. When you send a message, we receive the name, email address and message you provide. That is used solely to reply to you. We do not add contact form submissions to a mailing list and we do not sell or share them.

We do not operate user accounts, we do not process payments, and we do not sell anything directly, so we never collect passwords, payment details or shipping addresses.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people read and how they arrive. This collects usage information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and referring site. We use it in aggregate to decide what to write next.

Google Analytics sets cookies and processes this data on Google’s infrastructure under its own terms. You can opt out using Google’s browser add-on, your browser’s cookie controls, or any ad or tracker blocker — the site works normally without it.

Affiliate links

Product links on this site are affiliate links, principally to Amazon. When you follow one, the retailer may set its own cookies to attribute the visit, under its own privacy policy rather than ours. We see only that a click happened, never who you are or what you subsequently buy.

We also record anonymous click events in our analytics so we know which recommendations people find useful. That event contains the product and the page it was clicked from, and nothing identifying you. Full detail of how the links work is on our affiliate disclosure page.

Cookies

• Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics, as described above.
• Retailer cookies set by Amazon or another retailer after you follow an outbound link, under their policies.

This site sets no advertising cookies of its own and runs no third-party ad network. You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time; nothing on this site stops working if you do.

Hosting and infrastructure

The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes standard server request information including IP addresses as part of serving pages and protecting the service. Contact form messages are delivered by Microsoft Graph to our own mailbox.

Data retention

Contact form messages are retained in our mailbox for as long as needed to handle the correspondence. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics’ configured retention period. We hold no other personal data.

Your rights

You can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. In practice the only personal data we are likely to hold is an email exchange. Write to contact@slabandstack.com and we will action it.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the updated date at the top of this page changes with it.
